Rip Current in Guam, January 14, 2001
Three swimmers were swept over the reef at Ritidian Point. A Navy HC-5 Squadron helicopter and Guam Fire Rescue units responded to the scene that afternoon, but the swimmers, two men and a women, were able to swim to shore before the helicopter arrived.

OVERCAST SKIES AND GUSTY WINDS ALONG WITH WIDESPREAD RAIN IS LOCATED ALONG AND UP TO 200 MILES NORTHWEST OF THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY. TRADE WIND CONVERGENCE IS PRODUCING NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS FROM 144E TO 174E BETWEEN THE EQUATOR AND 8N. THE MONSOON TROUGH IS PRODUCING CLOUDINESS AND SCATTERED SHOWERS FROM 130E TO 141E BETWEEN THE EQUATOR AND 3N. PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND ISOLATED SHOWERS PREVAIL OVER THE REMAINDER OF THE DISCUSSION AREA.
