EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MELBOURNE FL

CURRENTLY...FEW SHOWERS NORTH OF CWA IN POOL OF HIGHER MOISTURE AIR
NR OLD WASHED OUT FRONTAL BOUNDARY. CONVECTION FORMING ALONG WEST
COAST SEA BREEZE IN HIGHER MOISTURE AIR SOUTH OF SARASOTA. EAST
COAST SEA BREEZE PUSHING INLAND SOUTH OF THE CAPE WITH ONLY
CONVECTION JUST NW OF PBI. DRY POCKET OF AIR HANGING ON OVER CWA FOR
NOW...BUT WILL HAVE TO WATCH TRENDS FOR POSSIBLE EVENING POPS.

NEXT 48H...SFC AND UPR LVL RIDGES WILL BE DISPLACED SLIGHTLY SOUTH
AND EAST AS AN UPR LVL TROF DEEPENS OVER THE ERN US. AN ASSC SFC LOW
WILL TRAVERSE THE GREAT LAKES...WITH A TRAILING WEAK FRONT/TROF
WASHING OUT SOMEWHERE OVER NRN FL FRI NIGHT. THIS WILL PLACE THE CWA
IN A LIGHT S TO SW FLOW AT THE SFC WITH SOUTHWEST FLOW AT UPPER
LVLS. MOISTURE POISED OVER THE ERN GOMEX WILL STREAM NE AHEAD OF
S/W'S IN THE BASE OF THE UPR TROF ON FRI. NGM IS THE LEAST
AGGRESSIVE WITH THE MOISTURE...AS YOU WOULD EXPECT...BUT EVEN IT
SHOWS A SMALL AREA OF PWATS TO 2 INCHES BY FRI EVENING (00Z SAT).
ACTION WILL START AS SCT SEA BREEZE CONVECTION FRI AFTERNOON (WITH
WEST COAST SEA BREEZE BEING MOST ACTIVE AND DOMINANT IN SW
FLOW)...HOWEVER EXPECT ACTIVITY TO LAST WELL INTO THE NIGHT AS H5
S/W ENERGY AND A JET STREAK NOSE INTO CEN FL IN THE EARLY EVENING.
SAT WILL BE TRICKY AS AVN HOLDS ON TO VERY HIGH MOISTURE VALUES AS
NGM AND ETA ATTEMPT TO DRY OUT FROM THE NW MORE RAPIDLY. IT APPEARS
SCT TSTMS ARE IN ORDER AGAIN SAT... BUT EXACT TS COVERAGE IS IN
QUESTION.

EXTENDED...00Z MRF GUIDANCE KEPT CEN FL IN MOIST AIRMASS AND GENERAL
SW FLOW TUE-THU. LATEST AVN RUN SHOWS THE UPR RIDGE AXIS DEVELOPING
NORTH OF THE CWA MON/TUE...WITH THE SFC RIDGE AXIS NEAR THE CAPE.
THIS WILL PLACE CWA IN MORE OF AN EASTERLY FLOW AT H85 AND
H70...WITH VERY LIGHT SFC WIND. AVAILABLE MOISTURE WOULD ALSO APPEAR
TO BE LESS...HOWEVER MODELS HAVE BASICALLY BEEN ALL OVER THE PLACE
FOR EARLY AND MIDDLE PART OF NEXT WEEK...AND CAN NOT JUSTIFY ANY
CHANGES TO PREVIOUS PKG ATTM.

MARINE...NO FLAGS EXPECTED THROUGHOUT...ALTHOUGH SW WINDS WILL
INCREASE TO NEAR 15 KTS SAT IN RESPONSE TO INCREASED GRADIENT CAUSED
BY SFC LOW TO THE NORTH AND HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE ATL. MAIN FOCUS
ON FORECAST WILL BE POPS FRI AND OVER WEEKEND.
