The Mallory Swamp fire burned a total of 57,200 acres according to the Florida Division of Forestry. Numerous homes on County Roads 349 and 351 were threatened and their residents evacuated, but none were damaged. Considerable haze and smoke from the blaze covered much of Interstate 10 from Tallahassee to Jacksonville.
