WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAMPA BAY AREA - RUSKIN FL 227 PM EDT SUN JUL 15 2001 CURRENTLY: A CONFUSED SERIES OF SWIRLS IS EVIDENT ON SATELLITE PICTURES THIS AFTERNOON PLAYING MESOSCALE HAVOC WITH THE AFTERNOON CONVECTION. STRONGEST STORMS ARE ACTUALLY OFFSHORE AND MOVING AWAY INTO THE GULF AS RENEWED NORTHEAST SURGE ON WEST SIDE OF UPPER LOW HAS COLLIDED WITH BOUNDARY OVER THE GULF LEFT FROM DEEP CONVECTION WELL OFFSHORE THIS MORNING. STILL EXPECT SOME SCATTERED ACTIVITY TO DEVELOP IN SOUTHERN HALF OF FA BEFORE THE DAY IS DONE. FORECAST: MOISTURE HANGING AROUND THE FAR SOUTH WILL START TO RETREAT BACK TO THE NORTH ALONG WITH THE WEAK FRONTAL BOUNDARY OVER THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
