LEADING EDGE OF TROPICAL WAVE CURRENTLY EXTENDS FROM JUST WEST OF
KEY WEST NORTH INTO SOUTHWEST FLORIDA. INITIAL BAND OF HEAVY RAIN
AND GUSTY WINDS MOVED THROUGH AREA THIS MORNING...WITH MAINLY LIGHT
TO MODERATE RAIN AT THE PRESENT TIME. RAINFALL AMOUNTS THUS FAR HAVE
BEEN HEAVIEST OVER MIAMI-DADE COUNTY WITH ONE TO TWO INCH AMOUNTS
OVER NORTHEAST PART OF COUNTY WITH FOUR INCH AMOUNTS OVER SOUTH
DADE. MODELS CONTINUE TO OFFER VARYING SOLUTIONS AS TO WHAT
TROPICAL WAVE WILL DO WHEN IT MOVES INTO GULF OF MEXICO. ONE THING
IS CERTAIN HOWEVER...SOUTH FLORIDA WILL CONTINUE TO REMAIN ON WET
SIDE OF WAVE SO WILL CONTINUE WITH FLOOD WATCH THROUGH THURSDAY FOR
ALL AREAS. MODEL FORECAST SOUNDINGS ALL KEEP PRECIPITABLE WATER
VALUES WELL OVER TWO INCHES THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. MAIN CONCERN IS
AREA OF COLDER TOP CLOUDS ASSOCIATED WITH UPPER LEVEL VORT MAX OVER
CENTRAL CUBA WHICH AVN AND ETA BOTH BRING NORTH INTO OUR AREA LATE
TONIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING. WITH SATURATED GROUND...ANY FURTHER
RAIN WILL WORSEN SITUATION. TRAINING ECHOES WILL BE THE MAIN
PROBLEM...PARTICULARLY DURING THE DAY THURSDAY. WILL GO WITH AN
ADDITIONAL 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS UP TO 7 INCHES
IN ADDITION TO WHAT HAS ALREADY FALLEN. AS FAR AS POPS GO...WILL
FORECAST CATEGORICAL THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT THEN DROP TO LIKELY BY
FRIDAY.
MARINE...WILL CONTINUE WITH SCA FOR TONIGHT FOR EAST COAST WITH
CAUTION ALONG THE WEST COAST. WILL DROP SPEEDS DOWN TO CAUTION ALONG
THE EAST COAST THURSDAY. HIGHER GUSTS WITH ANY SQUALLS THAT MOVE
THROUGH STILL NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION.
EXTENDED...WILL CONTINUE WITH CURRENT FORECAST...THOUGH OBVIOUSLY
HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON EVENTUAL TRACK OF LOW. FOR THE PRESENT TIME WILL
