CURRENTLY HAVE A WIND ADVISORY FOR THE KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS UNTIL 1000 AM. WINDS OVERALL IN THE KERN MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS HAVE SLACKENED OFF AS THE UPPER LEVEL FLOW BECOMES MORE NORTHERLY IN NATURE DUE TO THE PASSING OF A VERY STRONG SHORTWAVE AND JET STREAK ALONG THE CALIFORNIA/NEVADA BORDER. AS IS THE USUAL CASE...JAWBONE CANYON... TEHACHAPI PASS AND MANY ANTELOPE VALLEY LOCATIONS HAVE ALREADY BEGAN TO SEE DIMINISHED WINDS...HOWEVER MOJAVE IS STILL GUSTING TO AROUND 65 MPH. WITH THE SHORT WAVE AND JET MAX RAPIDLY MOVING SOUTHEAST TOWARDS LAS VEGAS TODAY SHOULD SEE MOJAVE WINDS FINALLY QUIET DOWN JUST IN TIME FOR SIERRA EAST SLOPE WINDS TO KICK IN FROM THE NORTHEAST AT LOCATIONS SUCH AS LAUREL MOUNTAIN AND INDIAN WELLS CANYON. WILL NEED TO EXTEND THE WIND ADVISORY FOR THE MOJAVE AREA UNTIL 400 PM AND LET OTHER AREAS EXPIRE...ALTHOUGH CONTINUING "WINDY" WORDING. IN THE SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY...WITH THE STRONG FLOW FROM THE NORTH IN THE LOWEST 5K FEET AT 40 KNOTS...WIND PRONE LOCATIONS HAVE ALREADY EXCEEDED THE CURRENT FORECAST SPEEDS AND WILL NEED TO UPDATE. AS FOR THE OVERALL FORECAST...LOOKS LIKE A WARMING TREND TO SET IN AFTER TODAY AS HEIGHTS RISE ABOUT 30 METERS EACH DAY FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF mDAYS.
