SHORT-WAVE TROUGH JUST SW OF CAPE MENDOCINO IS GIVING ADDED SUPPORT
FOR TSTM DEVELOPMENT ACROSS ZONE 4 THIS AFTERNOON. SO FAR...THE
STORMS WERE GENERATING LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN AND HAIL LESS THAN 1/2 AN
INCH IN DIAMETER (ACCORDING TO NWS WEATHER SPOTTERS). AVN AND ETA
FORECAST THE SHORT-WAVE TO LIFT N-NE TONIGHT AND SCATTERED SHOWERS
AND TSTMS SHOULD DECREASE OR END. SHWR AND TSTM ACTIVITY OVER THE
COASTAL WATERS AND IN ZONES 1 AND 3 HAS ENDED FOR NOW.
HOWEVER...WILL CONTINUE WITH ISOLD TSTMS N OF ROUTE 299 AT LEAST
THROUGH THIS EVENING AS THE SHORT-WAVE TROUGH NEVER COMPLETELY EXITS
THE CWFA UNTIL AFTER 12Z THURSDAY. DRY SW FLOW DEVELOPS ON THURSDAY
AND THE THREAT FOR SHOWERS AND TSTMS WILL BE MUCH LESS. AVN
CONTINUES TO FORECAST WEAK INSTABILITY LINGERING ACROSS THE NE
PORTION OF ZONE 4 THURSDAY AFTERNOON. THUS...WILL INCLUDE SLIGHT
CHANCE OF SHOWERS OVER HIGHER TERRAIN IN THE AFTERNOON.

AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH REMAINS ANCHORED OFFSHORE THROUGH MID NEXT
WEEK. MAX TEMPS IN THE INTERIOR WILL REMAIN BELOW NORMAL. WILL
FORECAST HIGH TEMPS IN THE 70S TO LOWER 80S DAYS 5...6 AND 7. THERE
COULD EVEN BE SOME DRIZZLE ON THE COAST AND ISOLATED SHOWERS IN THE
MOUNTAINS. WILL ADD DRIZZLE TO COASTAL ZONES BUT HOLD OFF ON ADDING
SHOWERS TO INTERIOR ZONES.
