High Wind in Alaska, March 2, 2001
A 974 mb low moved northeast along the Aleutian chain to the Alaska Peninsula by Friday evening. As the low moved east of Dutch Harbor, northwest winds around the back side of the low gusted to 75 mph at Dutch Harbor.

A 974 mb low moved northeast along the Aleutian chain to the Alaska Peninsula by Friday evening. As the low moved east of Dutch Harbor, northwest winds around the back side of the low gusted to 75 mph at Dutch Harbor. The observer on duty reported "black water" and williwas for several hours Friday evening.
