A man-caused wildfire began June 29 in the Tok area and spread quickly due to the wind from a nearby thunderstorm. Approximately 150 acres was burned.

A man-caused wildfire began June 29 in the Tok area and spread quickly due to the wind from a nearby thunderstorm. Approximately 150 acres was burned. Two homes, six outbuildings (sheds, greenhouses) were destroyed, along with a pick-up truck and a water well drill truck. Initially, 100 homes were evacuated; 150 people checked into a Red Cross shelter on the 29th but all returned to their homes by late that evening. Event continued into July.
