High Surf in Puerto Rico, March 22, 2000
A strong and nearly stationary low pressure system north of the region produced large north swells and breaking waves greater than 10 feet. The areas most affected were the north coast of the islands.

A strong and nearly stationary low pressure system north of the region produced large north swells and breaking waves greater than 10 feet. The areas most affected were the north coast of the islands. In Vega Baja three scuba divers and a swimmer resulted with injuries when they were smashed against the rocks by the rough seas.
