Lake effect snow showers developed in the morning along the lakeshore. The snow intensified and shifted inland during the afternoon as winds switched from the west to northwest. Accumulations of up to 10 inches were reported along the Lake Erie lakeshore with 6 to 8 inches of snowfall in Crawford and inland sections of Erie County. Gusty winds accompanied the snow and caused considerable blowing and drifting.
