Thunderstorm rains averaging between 2 and 4 inches in the headwaters of the Youghiogheny River during the day on the 6th produced river flooding at Connellsville during the evening hours of the 6th and early morning hours of the 7th. The Youghiogheny River crested at 13.75 feet (flood stage 12.0 feet) at 9:30 PM EST in Connellsville. This flooding affected 30 homes in the South Connellsville area alone, with an estimated $60,000 in damage to roads and homes.
