Severe thunderstorms affected a large part of western Oklahoma during the afternoon and evening of the 15th before the storms eventually weakened across central Oklahoma. The most significant damage resulted from baseball size hail which fell in Altus in Jackson County, with an estimated 2.6 million dollars in damage.

A small area of minor wind damage, most likely caused by a short-lived vortex called a gustnado, occurred across a one block area in Moore, bordered by Northeast 12th St., Bryant Ave., Southeast 4th St., and Eastern Ave. The damage extended about 1 mile but was only several houses wide in spots and consisted mostly of small uprooted or snapped trees, and damaged fences, road signs, and roof shingles.
