Cold northwest flow across Lake Erie led to the development of lake effect snow bands. The snow began during the early morning hours and continued into the evening. The heaviest snow fell in Geauga County with accumulations of up to nine inches reported. The eastern half of Cuyahoga County, northern sections of Trumbull County and much of Ashtabula County received around six inches of snow.
