What happened

The Mahoning River went into flood around midday on the 8th and crested in Youngstown at 13.0 feet at 8 pm. The river fell back below flood stage on the evening of the 9th. In Mahoning County, flooding was confined to low lying areas along the river in Youngstown. Flooding was also observed upstream in Trumbull County near both Warren and Niles.
