Rapid snowmelt and heavy rain resulted in extensive runoff throughout Burleigh county. Unseasonably warm temperatures, as well as frozen grounds and ice and snow plugged culverts, also factored into the extensive runoff. fifteen roadways wereovertopped by runoff resulting in closure of these roads. Apple creek near Menoken rose 10 feet from February 25 throughthe 27th weekend..cresting at 16.6 feet. The flood stage is 15 feet.. The flood warning remained in effect until March 1st2000 when levels fell below flood stage.
