Damaging Wind in North Carolina, August 7, 2000
An isolated severe thunderstorm produced a macroburst with winds estimated as high as 75 mph which blew roofs partially off mobile homes, caused light structural damage to homes and churches, downed numerous trees (some on structures), and resulted in widespread power outages. In addition, the high winds coincident with marble size hail resulted in significant damage to crops.

In addition, the high winds coincident with marble size hail resulted in significant damage to crops. A dollar estimate of crop damage was not available at the time of this writing, but was considered to be rather high.
