A severe thunderstorm knocked down several trees and power lines in northern Hunterdon County. Around Whitehouse Station, a peak wind gust of 67 mph was measured. Numerous large limbs were knocked down and a few whole trees were either snapped or uprooted. The quarter size hail lasted for five minutes and quickly covered the ground. The severe thunderstorms caused 84,000 homes and businesses in the northern half of New Jersey to lose power; 60,000 of the outages occurred in Hunterdon, Morris, Sussex and WarrenCounties. All power was restored by the 5th.
