Heavy rainfall affected west central and central Missouri during both the early morning and late evening hours of May 26. The heaviest rains affected central Missouri, including Cooper County. At Otterville, the first complex of storms dropped 3.80 inches of rain in approximately 6 hours. Less than 24 hours later, another thunderstorm complex produced 3.27 inches of rain in about 6 hours. Runoff from the storms triggered minor flooding of the South Grand River near Urich and the Lamine River near Otterville. Moderate flooding was reported on Petite Saline Creek southeast of Boonville, where the creek crested at 22.5 feet, 6.5 feet above flood stage, on May 27.
