Severe thunderstorms developed rapidly during the early morning over Eastern Iowa. The storms were fueled by strong warm air advection ahead of an approaching upper level disturbance and jet max. The storms produced a few reports of large hail and damaging winds. Winds measured at 63 mph swept through Washington County. The high winds toppled trees onto homes in Washington and flattened a cornfield 100 x 200 yards wide near Wyman.
