Flooding in Indiana, September 26 to 29, 2000
4 to 5 inches of rain fell across much of Greene county on the 24th and 25th causing unusual September flooding along the southwest portion of the White River. The last time any portion of the White River was above flood stage in September was in 1989.

4 to 5 inches of rain fell across much of Greene county on the 24th and 25th causing unusual September flooding along the southwest portion of the White River. The last time any portion of the White River was above flood stage in September was in 1989. Elliston crested at 18.4 feet (flood stage is 18 feet) on the 26th, Newberry 13.5 feet (flood stage is 13 feet) on the 26th and Edwardsport 16.3 feet (flood stage is 15 feet) on the 27th. The flooding only effected some county roads and agricultural bottomland and was minor.
