Lightning struck and severely damaged a 3,600 gallon metal tank on a septic truck. The tank, with half inch thick metal, was squashed in the center by the force of the lightning bolt. Damage to the tank from the lightning bolt was similar to that of stepping on an aluminum beverage can. The driver, standing fifteen feet away from the truck struck by lightning, was slightly injured with a sore neck and ringing ears.
