Thunderstorms with heavy rain caused the flooding of some of the creeks in southern New Castle County south of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. Doppler Radar storm total estimates in a narrow band from Townsend east through the Woodland Beach Wildlife Area ranged between 1.5 and 2.5 inches. Most of the rain fell within one hour.
