The record high temperature of 95 at Denver International Airport broke three record extremes. The afternoon maximum temperature broke the previous record for the day of 94 set in 1895. It also marked the warmest it has been so late in the month of September, which incidently was set the previous day. Also, the afternoon high temperature marked the 61st time during the year that the 90 degree mark was met or exceeded, breaking the record of 60 days set in 1994 and then tied the previous day.
