Daily maximum temperatures across the area reached record levels for three consecutive days and most official reporting sites were fifteen to twenty degrees above normal readings. Sacramento, Stockton, Redding, Red Bluff, and Vallejo (Solano Co.) each tied or broke records on one or more days. The normal maximum temperature for Sacramento for this period is 82 degrees, yet temperatures reached 100, 103, and 99 degrees...all new daily records. The temperature in Vallejo reached 98 degrees on the 23rd, which was the highest temperature ever reached in May for the city.
