A weak tornado affected the Rim Shoals Recreational Area along the White River...which is located about 2 miles southeast of Gassville in Baxter County. The tornado demolished a pavilion at a campground and damaged a couple of rental cabins. Several dozen trees were blown down, with one tree falling on a spot where a tent had been located. The tent was being used by three campers, with the campers evacuated to a permanent building by one of the owners of the campground. The owner evacuated the campers not long after a tornado warning had been issued for the area. The tent has never been found.
