Heavy Snow in Alaska, September 27 to 28, 2000
A low pressure center in the eastern Gulf of Alaska deepened on the 26th through 27th, causing moisture from the low to overrun the cool airmass over the Tanana Valley, producing snow over the Alaska Range and eastern Tanana Valley. On the morning of the 28th, some warm air aloft moved over the far eastern Tanana Valley, producing light freezing rain at Northway from 6am-8am AST.
