The combination of an unstable airmass, a trough and lake breeze resulted in the formation of isolated thunderstorms. One of the storms was severe and downed trees and dropped large hail across the Door peninsula. A boater on the Bay of Green Bay, about 6 miles north of Sturgeon Bay (Door county) reported encountering winds in excess of 70 mph for around 20 miles. One person onboard suffered an eye injury from hail associated with the storm.
