High winds occurred over much of the South Plains on the afternoon of the 4th. Gusts to 67 mph were recorded in Littlefield, 66 mph in Morton, and 59 mph in Lubbock. There were isolated reports of trees uprooted and power poles snapped. The winds also caused one of the spring's worst dust storms that afternoon.
