High Wind in Texas, March 7, 1999
Strong gusty winds accompanied a cold front as it swept across far west Texas, with a 63 mph gust measured at the El Paso International Airport. Power outages were noted in El Paso, and a wind mill blew over near the Hudspeth/El Paso County line.

Power outages were noted in El Paso, and a wind mill blew over near the Hudspeth/El Paso County line. The George Strait Country Music Festival was cut short due to the high winds. One women needed stiches after being struck in the back of the head with an unknown object.
