Several inches of rain across mainly the south part of Lubbock caused some of the worst flooding in recent memory. Over $500,000 in damages occurred to flooded cars at one car dealership alone, while dozens of other vehicles were flooded and stranded. Most of the city's playa lakes were flooded, as were dozens of homes near the lakes and numerous city streets. Also, FM1585 and Highway 82 were flooded.
