Lightning hit the Coffee County Consolidated Communications Center and knocked out emergency 911 calls for about an hour. The Center also handles dispatch calls for area law enforcement, fire and ambulance services. Emergency calls had to be routed through the jail. This was the second time in 12 years that the Communications Center was hit this bad by lightning.
