Scattered thunderstorms developed across the Upstate during the afternoon. One became severe in Anderson county and blew down several trees on Hwys 81 and 153. One person was injured by lightning in Powdersville. A NWS spotter reported 60 mph gusts and trees down all across the city of Spartanburg. Dime size hail which fell north of Union, was followed by damaging winds which blew down trees and power lines.
