Thunderstorms with torrential downpours produced considerable poor drainage flooding and stream flooding in Berks, Monroe and Northampton Counties. Hardest hit was Northampton County. Streams that overflowed their banks produced some localized flooding. Poor drainage flooding occurred around Nazareth. Similar occurrences occurred around Stroudsburg in Monroe County and Reading in Berks County. Within Reading a pick-up truck and a sports utility vehicle became submerged in the Spring Street underpass. No serious injuries were reported. Storm totals included 2.75 inches in East Stroudsburg (Monroe County), 2.67 inches in Nazareth (Northampton County), 2.33 inches in Bath (Northampton County), 1.52 inches at the Lehigh Valley International Airport and 1.40 inches in Easton (Northampton County).
