Drought conditions across northwest Pennsylvania eased as thunderstorm rain became more widespread. None the less, very dry soil conditions persisted in a few areas that missed the brunt of the thunderstorm activity. Crop yields will likely be reduced because of the lack of adequate rainfall. Losses due to the drought were unknown.
