Around two inches of rain fell on snow in the upper basin of Squaw Creek on Thanksgiving day. This resulted in significant erosion of the bank of Squaw Creek adjacent to the State Highway 20 bridge just southeast of Sisters.

Around two inches of rain fell on snow in the upper basin of Squaw Creek on Thanksgiving day. This resulted in significant erosion of the bank of Squaw Creek adjacent to the State Highway 20 bridge just southeast of Sisters. The flash flood created a gouge 8 feet deep, 10 feet wide and 100 feet long that threatened to undermine the foundation of the bridge. Several truckloads of riprap were required to repair the damage.
