Summary of events for August 13 1999:A southward-moving cold front helped to kick off an isolated cluster of severe thunderstorms. The first storms developed over southeastern Pushmataha County with the cluster developing to the southwest and eventually moving into Texas near the southwestern corner of Choctaw County.

Summary of events for August 13 1999:A southward-moving cold front helped to kick off an isolated cluster of severe thunderstorms. The first storms developed over southeastern Pushmataha County with the cluster developing to the southwest and eventually moving into Texas near the southwestern corner of Choctaw County. These storms produced golfball-sized hail and strong damaging winds. It should be noted that the last hail report was observed 5 miles from the storm core, meaning that there was likely much larger hail in the storm core as the storm exited Choctaw County near New Oberlin.
The Western Arkansas radar (KSRX), 150 km away, was scanning. The volume nearest the first event began at 22:16 UTC.

Many large trees were blown over.
Several trees were damaged along US Hwy 70 between Unger and Soper.
A house along Unger Road experienced roof damage, and very large trees were blown down.
There was tree damage near the intersection of OK Hwy 109 and Unger Road.
