The spring flood along the Red River closed the Sorlie (Demers) bridge, one link between the cities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. The Red River peaked at 44.3 feet on April 1st. A clay dike had to be built along Belmont Road in Grand Forks along Lincoln Park Golf Course, to protect several homes in that area.
