Severe thunderstorms crossed the counties of extreme western New York producing damaging winds, downpours, and hail. The winds downed trees and power lines with scattered power outages reported. Falling trees resulted in structure damage in Cassadaga and Ellicottville. A funnel was also sighted in Cassadaga. In Sinclairville, the strong winds levelled a large barn. The high which fell with the same storm damaged corn, tomato, pepper and squash crops. In Ellicottville, one of the trees that fell, presumed planted in the late 1800's, had a circumference of 144 inches.
