A pre-frontal trough sparked scattered thunderstorms in a very unstable air mass around midday on July 18. A few of the cells became severe in the Lake George / Saratoga region. The storms brought spotty damage, including downed trees and wires to a large number of communities in central Washington county. Golf ball size hail was noted at Argyle and dime size hail was noted at Hudson Falls.
