A thunderstorm produced torrential rain that caused significant street flooding in parts of Jersey City. A bus plowed through at least 3 feet of water on Garfield Ave. north of Carteret Ave. as storm drains were overwhelmed. Police Headquarters at 8 Erie street also sustained flood damage.Lightning struck the top of a roof, which caused its' partial collapse at 56 Coles Street in Jersey City.
