Lightning struck a tree in Exeter just before midnight and ignited a fire which destroyed a nearby 14x24 ft 1 and 1/2 story barn and its contents. The lightning also travelled 50 feet through a wire in the ground to a nearby house where the surge burned wires and caused smoke in the residence.
