Flooding in Nebraska, August 7 to 10, 1999
The very heavy rain that fell across parts of east central Nebraska and southwest Iowa 8/6/99 into the morning hours of 8/7/99, over 10 inches in some locations, caused the Missouri River from Nebraska City downstream through Rulo Nebraska to flood for several days. Mainly just agricultural bottonlands were flooded, however.

The very heavy rain that fell across parts of east central Nebraska and southwest Iowa 8/6/99 into the morning hours of 8/7/99, over 10 inches in some locations, caused the Missouri River from Nebraska City downstream through Rulo Nebraska to flood for several days. Mainly just agricultural bottonlands were flooded, however. The river at Nebraska City crested just a touch over 19 feet during the morning of 8/08/99, flood stage is 18 feet. At Brownville, the Missouri River reached 36 feet late on August 8th, flood stage is 32 feet. Then finally, at Rulo the river crested at 19.5 feet during the morning hours of 8/9/99, flood stage is 17 feet.
