Lightning Strike in Maine, July 5, 1999
Lightning from an early morning thunderstorm struck a home in Alna, completely destroying the electrical system of the home. Although the home filled with a black smoke, no fire damage was reported.

Lightning from an early morning thunderstorm struck a home in Alna, completely destroying the electrical system of the home. Although the home filled with a black smoke, no fire damage was reported. Although the home was equipped with lightning rods, the lightning apparently struck a nearby tree, jumped to a nearby lamppost, and then travelled into the house where it melted the fuse box, broke glass, tore a door off it's hinges, and knocked out a large section of the exterior wall.
