Tropical Storm Harvey moved across the south Florida mainland from the Gulf of Mexico. There was very little in the way of damage in the Keys associated with Tropical Storm Harvey. The storm surge was approximately 1 foot above normal tide with only minor coastal flooding observed. Highway A1A on the south side of Key West was closed for a few hours due to coastal flooding. The peak winds were as follows:47 knots sustained/ 59 knots gust at Molasses Reef C-MAN station offshore Key Largo.35 knots sustained/39 knot gust at Sand Key C-MAN station offshore Key West.35 knots sustained/37 knots gust at Sombrero Key C-MAN station offshore Marathon.32 knots sustained/37 knots gust at Key West Int'l airport.
