Hail and Damaging Wind in Florida, August 2, 1999
Severe thunderstorm wind gusts of 60 mph blew down a large ficus tree onto a house roof in Fort Lauderdale and also blew down a powerline onto a residence that ignited a fire that damaged the home and injured one occupant. One inch hail was reported by trained spotters at Lauderdale Lakes and three quarter inch hail at Plantation.
