A line of thunderstorms moved across the Grand Junction area from the west, blowing down a number of trees. The steel vents on the roof of a bank were blown off and a large sign was blown off an office building.

A line of thunderstorms moved across the Grand Junction area from the west, blowing down a number of trees. The steel vents on the roof of a bank were blown off and a large sign was blown off an office building. The peak wind speed measured at Walker Field Airport (KGJT) was 55 MPH (48 knots) Stronger winds were estimated by law enforcement personnel in other parts of the Grand Valley.
