A slow-moving line of thunderstorms dumped between one to two inches of rain in Fort Smith, most of it falling in a 30 to 45 minute time frame. This caused numerous streets to flood and numerous vehicles to stall in Fort Smith. Near 16th and Grand, cars were floating in the floodwaters. A newspaper clipping pictured a van stalled in high water near North 10th and "C" Streets, while another photo showed two women walking in knee-deep water near North 8th and "I" Streets.
