Summary for April 24 1999:A series of thunderstorms moved eastward along a stationary front located east-west along the Arkansas River valley. Some of the storms in the morning produced marginally severe hail and wind. Meanwhile, the repeated movement of thunderstorms along the same path led to locally heavy rainfall amounts. An NWS Cooperative Observer 1 mile northwest of Greenwood measured 2.85 inches of rain for the 24 hours ending at 7 AM CDT on April 25.
