Heavy Snow in Alaska, March 10 to 12, 1999
Prolonged snowfall left areas around Girdwood and Seward, and along the Seward Highway area between the two cities, with 1 to locally 4 feet of snow. Snow piled up quickly in areas around Turnagain Arm.

Snow piled up quickly in areas around Turnagain Arm. Valdez, and the immediate area into Thompson Pass, recorded 12 - 16 inches of new snow from Wednesday to Thursday morning.
